Verified crewed motor yachts, large sailing yachts and catamarans of 70 to 99 feet from vetted brokers across Spain, France, Italy, Croatia and Greece. The entry to the superyacht world — professionally crewed, classed, and charter-capable. Every listing verified, every broker vetted, no lead-generation pay-walls.
At 70 to 99 feet the market is concentrated in the superyacht hubs — the French and Italian Rivieras above all, with Spain (Palma) a major centre. The map below reflects current verified 70 to 99-foot inventory across our broker network.
Between 70 and 99 feet, yachting becomes superyachting. These are professionally crewed vessels — typically a captain and one to three crew — with full-beam owner's suites, multiple guest cabins, crew quarters, and the systems of a small ship: stabilisers, generators, watermakers, tenders and serious range. Ownership shifts decisively from hands-on to managed, with crew, berthing, classification and refit forming the real cost of ownership.
The segment is dominated by planing and semi-displacement motor yachts from Sunseeker, Princess, Sanlorenzo, Ferretti, Pershing, Azimut Grande and the smaller Benetti and Heesen models. Large sailing superyachts and performance cruisers occupy the sailing side, and 70-plus-foot catamarans — Sunreef in particular — have grown into a category of their own. At this size, classification, flag, MCA compliance and charter history materially affect both value and use.
Buying at this level is a managed process: a specialist survey, a full sea trial and close legal and tax due diligence are essential, and most buyers work through a dedicated broker and a maritime lawyer. Crew, VAT structuring and flag choice should be planned before purchase. The larger end overlaps our 100-foot and luxury yacht markets.

Stepping into crewed ownership with a 70 to 85-foot motor yacht. Plan crew, berthing, classification and refit costs before purchase — these define ownership at this size.
A classed, MCA-compliant 80-foot yacht can earn substantial crewed-charter income. Verify charter history, compliance, projected wear and the realistic resale position.
A 80 to 99-foot displacement or semi-displacement yacht for distance cruising in comfort, with crew. Assess range, stabilisers, tender garage and crew quarters.

It is on the threshold. Superyacht is generally defined as 24 metres (about 79 feet) and above, so yachts in the 80 to 99-foot range qualify, while 70 to 78-foot yachts sit just below in the large-yacht class. At this size, vessels are professionally crewed, often classed, and operated much like superyachts — with captain, crew, stabilisers and ship-scale systems.
Typically a captain plus one to three crew, depending on the yacht and how it is used. A privately used 80-footer might run with a captain and one or two crew; a charter yacht of the same size carries more to service guests. Crew accommodation, salaries and management are a central part of the ownership cost at this size.
In the Mediterranean, 70 to 80-foot motor yachts range from roughly €2 million to €7 million; 80 to 99-foot motor yachts €4 million to €12 million; sailing superyachts €1.5 million to €8 million; large catamarans €2 million to €6 million. Build, classification, refit history and charter record drive value heavily, and the largest custom builds are priced bespoke.
Running costs at this size are substantial — commonly estimated at around 10 percent of the yacht's value per year once crew, berthing, insurance, classification, fuel, maintenance and refit reserves are included. Charter income can offset this. Plan the full operating budget, not just the purchase price, before buying.
A specialist survey, full sea trial, and close legal and tax due diligence are essential. Verify classification, flag, MCA or commercial compliance, VAT structuring and charter history. Most buyers work through a dedicated broker and a maritime lawyer, and plan crew and flag arrangements before closing. Budget for transaction costs and any immediate refit.
The French Riviera (Monaco, Antibes, Cannes) and Italy are the superyacht heartland; Palma de Mallorca in Spain is a major centre. Greece and Croatia hold charter-fleet and large-catamaran inventory. Classification, compliance, refit history and a specialist survey matter more than location, so work with a broker who specialises in this segment.
