First flybridge in the Fountaine Pajot Motor Yacht range. Formerly the MY40, rebranded MY5 in 2021. 1,000nm range at 18-knot cruise. Discontinued in 2025.
The MY5 entered production in 2021 as the successor to the MY40 (2018–2020) — same hull, refreshed branding and refinements. Designed by Daniel Andrieu with Pierangelo Andreani interiors, the MY5 was the first flybridge powercat in the Fountaine Pajot Motor Yacht line.
What made the MY5 distinctive was the flybridge deck — offering virtually unobstructed 360-degree views and what FP marketing called a 'beach club vibe' suitable for entertaining. Combined with the IPS pod drives and a Maestro layout featuring a private companionway to the owner's suite, the MY5 was positioned as the entertainment-focused middle option in the FP power range.
Production ran 2021–2025, ending alongside the broader Motor Yachts range refresh. On the resale market in 2026, MY5 inventory is small — production was modest and most are in active private ownership. The MY5 hits a specific sweet spot: bigger and more capable than the MY 37, more efficient and more flybridge-focused than the MY6.
Specifications are manufacturer figures for a base specification MY5. Individual boats vary based on year, equipment, and owner modifications. Always verify against the specific boat's documentation during survey.
The MY5 is offered in multiple layouts. Choosing between them is the most important decision in a MY5 purchase, and meaningfully affects price, resale, and how the boat actually lives.
The Maestro layout includes a full-beam owner's suite with private companionway access, ensuite head, and a transverse queen berth with hullside windows. The VIP stateroom has a similar berth, and the forward guest stateroom offers twin bunks. Three cabins, three heads. The standard configuration — no separate charter version.
Like the MY 44 and MY6, the MY5 was not offered in a charter-specific layout. Positioning was strictly owner-cruiser. Resale-market MY5s come from private ownership with consequently lower hours and better-maintained condition than equivalent-age sailing FPs.

Indicative 2026 ranges for the MY5 across condition, year, and layout. Country of sale also affects pricing — Italian and French inventory typically lists 5 to 15 percent above Spanish or Greek equivalents.

Browse all Fountaine Pajots →IPS pods need specific service every 200–300 hours plus annual checks. Pod replacement is significant — €30,000–€50,000 per side. Verify pod service history meticulously.
Privately-owned MY5s typically show 500–1,500 hours by year 3–4 — quite low for the size class. Volvo IPS400/IPS600 engines are robust but service-dependent.
The expanded flybridge sees significant sun and salt exposure. Check teak deck (if fitted), helm equipment age, sunpad cushion condition, and waterproofing of all hatches and seals. Cushion replacement is €4,000–€8,000.
Optional hydraulic swim platform is a common addition. Verify hydraulic ram condition, hose integrity, and test full operation. Replacement parts can be €5,000–€10,000.
Wraparound saloon glazing requires perimeter seal maintenance. UV degradation after 4–5 years is possible; replacement is €2,500–€5,000 per panel.
MY5s built 2021–2025 have generally modern electronics packages, but verify chartplotter, AIS, autopilot, and satellite system age and software status. Full refit budget if needed is €8,000–€18,000.
Used MY5 prices typically range from €650k for an early 2021–2022 IPS400 example, up to €1.1M for a 2025 final-year IPS600 model with full equipment. New builds are no longer available — the MY5 was discontinued in 2025.
Same hull, different branding. The MY40 was launched in 2018 with the original name; in 2021 Fountaine Pajot rebranded it as the MY5 with minor refinements but the same fundamental platform. For practical purposes, MY40 (2018–2020) and MY5 (2021–2025) buyers are looking at the same boat with different production years.
No — the MY5 was discontinued in 2025 as part of Fountaine Pajot's broader Motor Yachts range refresh. All MY5s on the market are used.
With twin Volvo IPS400 engines (standard), cruising speed is 16–18 knots and top speed is approximately 22 knots. With optional IPS600 (440 hp), cruising speed rises to 18–20 knots with a top hop of 24 knots and 1,000nm range at the economical 18-knot cruise.
The MY5 was sold in a Maestro 3-cabin layout with three ensuite heads. The owner suite has private companionway access; the VIP and guest cabins are accessed through the main companionway.
Limited but feasible. With 1,408L of fuel and a 1,000nm range at 18-knot cruise, the MY5 is capable of meaningful coastal and short-passage cruising but doesn't have the offshore tankage of the larger MY 44 (2,000L) or MY6.
