Fountaine Pajot power catamarans.

Complete guide to the Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts range. MY 37, MY 44, MY5, MY6, Power 67 (Alegria 67) and the new Power 80 — specs, positioning, prices, and current Mediterranean inventory.

The Fountaine Pajot power range.

Fountaine Pajot launched its Motor Yachts division in 2015 with the MY 37 — the yard's first power catamaran after four decades building sailing multihulls. Today the range covers six models from 36 to 80 feet, alongside an entirely new Yachts division producing 35m+ motor catamarans like the FPY120.

What makes the Fountaine Pajot powercat range distinctive is the combination of catamaran-platform stability and interior volume with motor yacht aesthetics and performance. Compared to monohull alternatives at the same length, FP power cats deliver substantially more usable space, better stability at anchor, and lower fuel consumption per nautical mile. Compared to other production powercats (Sunreef Power, Lagoon Sixty 7, Aquila), Fountaine Pajot tends to favour a more refined Mediterranean-cruising aesthetic with Pierangelo Andreani interiors throughout the range.

The range underwent its first major refresh in 2025 — the Power 67 was discontinued in favour of the larger Power 80 at the top, and the MY5 ended production. Current production models are the MY6 (in production since 2017) and the Power 80 (launched 2024). Discontinued models — MY 37, MY 44, MY5, Power 67 — remain well-represented on the used market.

Power 80 (2024–present)

The Power 80 sits at the top of the production FP power range — above it, the new Fountaine Pajot Yachts division produces fully bespoke motor catamarans like the FPY120 (35m), but those are individual builds rather than series production.

Choosing the right Fountaine Pajot powercat.

The right FP powercat depends on cruising plans, budget, and how much living space you actually need. Here's the practical guidance.

For coastal cruising and weekending

The MY 37 is FP's entry point and remains a credible weekender for couples or small families. At 11m, it's compact enough for easy short-handed handling and modest mooring fees, but big enough for genuine catamaran living. Trade-off is tankage — at 600L fuel and 240L water, extended cruising requires upgrades. Used MY 37s start around €220k.

For long-range Mediterranean cruising

The MY 44 is the sweet-spot choice — Volvo IPS pods, 2,000L fuel, 2,000nm range. The boat handles ARC-style long passages comfortably and provides three ensuite cabins for couples cruising with guests. Limited production (2017–2020 only) keeps used pricing firm; expect €480k–€890k depending on year and equipment.

For entertainment and flybridge living

The MY5 (2021–2025, formerly MY40) introduced the first flybridge to the FP power range and is positioned squarely at the entertaining buyer. The 360-degree flybridge views and sunpad layout suit Mediterranean island-hopping with guests. Range is more limited than the MY 44 (1,000nm at 18-knot cruise).

For flagship-level cruising and entertaining

The MY6 (2017–present) is FP's flagship Motor Yacht — three ensuite cabins, equivalent volume to a 20m monohull, 2,000L fuel. The MY6 is the longest-running model in the FP power range and has consistently held value better than smaller models.

For serious long-range and crew operations

The Power 67 (2020–2025, also known as Alegria 67 Power) was FP's 20m flagship until 2025. Volvo D11/D13 shaft drives, 3,500L fuel, optional crew quarters, and substantial owner's accommodations. The new Power 80 takes over this slot in current production with even larger specifications.

Used pricing reflects condition variance from charter-fleet returns to private-owned boats with low hours. Most FP power models attracted private owners rather than charter operators, so engine hours tend to be lower than equivalent-age sailing FPs — but condition and equipment vary widely.

Common questions.

What's the cheapest Fountaine Pajot power catamaran?

The MY 37 is the entry point, with used examples starting around €220k for early 2015–2016 hulls. It's FP's first power catamaran and a credible weekender for couples wanting catamaran stability and interior volume in a sub-40-foot package.

What's the most capable FP powercat for long-range cruising?

For sub-50-foot, the MY 44 is the answer — 2,000L fuel, Volvo IPS pods, ~2,000nm range. For larger, the Power 67 / Alegria 67 Power offers 3,500L fuel and shaft drives suited to serious offshore work. The new Power 80 takes over the flagship long-range slot in current production.

What's the difference between Volvo IPS pods and shaft drives in the FP range?

IPS pods (used on MY 44, MY5, MY6) deliver joystick close-quarters manoeuvring, better fuel efficiency at cruising speeds, and typically higher top speeds. Shaft drives (used on MY 37, Power 67) are simpler mechanically, easier to service in remote locations, and arguably better suited to true long-range work where engine reliability matters more than convenience features.

Are Fountaine Pajot power catamarans good for charter?

Less so than the sailing range. Most FP Motor Yacht models were sold without dedicated charter layouts, and the range is dominated by private owners. The MY6 is occasionally found in crewed-charter operations; the Power 67 is rare in commercial charter use. For charter operations, FP's sailing range (Aura 51, Tanna 47, Elba 45) is generally more economic.

Fountaine Pajot vs Lagoon for power catamarans?

Lagoon is the larger competitor with the Lagoon Sixty 5 / Sixty 7 powercats. Compared to Lagoon Power, FP tends to favour more refined Andreani interiors and a slightly more performance-oriented design philosophy; Lagoon emphasises interior volume and a deeper parts/service network. Both are credible — the choice typically comes down to specific layout preferences and condition of available examples on the used market.

Are there hybrid or electric Fountaine Pajot motor yachts?

Not yet. FP's hybrid drivetrain (ODSea+) is currently only available on three sailing models (Astrea 42, Elba 45, Aura 51). The Motor Yacht range remains diesel-only as of 2026, though FP has announced hybrid power catamaran development for future models.
