The combination of high volume (the broadest catamaran sailing community in southern Europe), favourable VAT treatment for EU residents, and the country's position as a year-round catamaran cruising base means that more 450s reach the Spanish resale market each year than any other Mediterranean country. At any given time, the Spanish market typically holds 15 to 30 active 450 listings.
Geographic concentration: Palma de Mallorca is the single largest market, with multiple yacht brokers actively listing 450s year-round. Barcelona is the second-largest. Valencia, Alicante, and the Costa Blanca contribute substantial volume. Marbella, Estepona, and the Costa del Sol have a smaller but consistent presence. Ibiza, Almería, and Cartagena round out the active markets.
Spanish 450 inventory typically splits 60-65 percent ex-charter, 35-40 percent private owner — slightly less charter-heavy than Croatian or Greek inventory, but more so than Italian or French. Spanish owner-version 450s typically come from owners stepping up to a Lagoon 50 or 51 after 5+ years of ownership, providing some of the better-condition private inventory available in the Mediterranean.

However, Croatian boats are heavily charter-worn and require €25k to €60k in remediation that Spanish private-owner inventory often doesn't. Once you adjust for condition, the differential narrows substantially.
