1. Who we are

sellyourboat.io (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Wall and 5th Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales 16573579, with registered office at 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, United Kingdom.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use sellyourboat.io and our white-label broker deployments.

2. What we collect

We collect information in three contexts:

  • Boat listing submissions. When a seller submits a listing, we collect boat details, photos, location, pricing, and seller contact information (name, email, phone).
  • Broker accounts. When a broker signs up for the platform, we collect company details, contact information, and authentication credentials.
  • Website visitors. We collect basic analytics (page views, referrers, device type) through privacy-respecting tools. We do not use advertising cookies.

3. How we use your data

  • To process and publish boat listings on behalf of brokers.
  • To send review notifications, approval confirmations, and listing updates.
  • To provide, maintain, and improve the platform.
  • To respond to enquiries and support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal basis (UK GDPR)

We process personal data under the following lawful bases: (a) performance of a contract, (b) our legitimate interests in operating the service, (c) your consent where applicable, and (d) compliance with legal obligations.

5. Who sees your data

Listings submitted to a broker are visible to that broker and are published on their website once approved. We do not sell personal data. We share data with:

  • Infrastructure providers — Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Vercel Blob (file storage), Resend (email).
  • Payment processors — Stripe, for paid submissions.
  • The broker receiving your listing submission.
  • Legal authorities where required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain listing data for as long as the broker’s account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards for legal and operational purposes. Rejected or withdrawn listings may be deleted on request. Email notifications are stored for up to 90 days.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Request data portability.
  • Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sellyourboat.io.

8. International transfers

Some of our infrastructure providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), authenticated access, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies to operate the site (authentication, preferences). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics, where used, is anonymous and aggregated.
